ARTIST & DESIGN SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY
feature and sell your work with participants from around the world.
The Arctic Encounter's mission is to raise awareness for and about the Arctic region and the people who live there. We believe there are many ways to do this, but one of the most compelling ways to educate to learn is to connect and to experience. The arts are an important medium for that connection and learning.
The Arctic Encounter is seeking artists and designers to participate in and/or exhibit their artwork, designs, or other textile creations at the flagship event from March 29-31, 2023. These scholarships are available to individual artists or creative companies from the Arctic or any northern territory, including Alaska, the Canadian sub-Arctic, et cetera. Please do not hesitate to reach out regardless of your location - we are most interested in stories, techniques, and inspiration.
The Arctic Encounter will offer exhibit booths free of charge to applicants pursuing the 2023 Arctic Encounter Artist-Designer Scholarship. The venue will permit artists and creators to sell all artwork or textiles so long as nothing is consumable. The Arctic Encounter scholarship allows for 100% of proceeds to remain with the artist. Through this scholarship, we hope to include diverse cultural elements, educate through the arts, and connect participants with creative elements, ideas, and stories different from their own at Arctic Encounter.
Past artist scholarship participants and sales were represented by a diverse group of creators, including painters, photographers, clothing designers and expert seamstresses, jewelry designers, kayak builders, wood carvers, performers and musicians, expert ivory carvers, and more.
Arctic Encounter will not accept any liability for the artworks presented or sold. Signing a liability disclosure form before the start of the conference is required.
Please note that exhibit space is limited, and scholarships will be granted on a rolling basis based on the diversity of exhibitors and representation of Arctic states and northern regions.
